Service Description
Where did the parts and pieces from your favorite toy come from? How did your favorite fruit end up in your grocery store? How did people trade before boats and planes? In Wagon to World Market, we'll answer all these questions and more! We'll begin our semester learning about the development of trade, and examine how goods, ideas, and cultures were exchanged through early trading systems. We'll progress into learning how innovations in transportation connected communities around the world, and look at world statistics on different countries or region's imports, exports, and trading systems. Throughout the semester we will make maps, draw pictures, and read stories. We will also learn about our Partner Countries and gain a deeper appreciation for how things are moved around from raw material to finished product. Students will do a mini research project choosing an item that's meaningful to them, trace its origin from the manufacturing stage all the way to how they obtained it, then present their research to the class. *Homework will be given a few times through the semester*
