About Us

Your Homeschool Community

Irving Park Homeschool Group began as a meetup group at Independence Park Playground in 2021. It was at these meetups we began discussing our ideal homeschool community that could pool the talents and passions of parents and local organizations to meet the diverse needs of our students. Quickly realizing that such a group did not exist in the city of Chicago, we decided to make our vision a reality.

IPHG's mission is to promote creativity and foster academic excellence, while building an inclusive homeschool community.

Our parent and organizational partnerships allow us to provide a variety of classes and enrichment opportunities for preschool and school age students. We offer two full semesters of learning: a fall semester that runs September through mid December and a spring semester that runs January through Mid April.

Over the summer months we offer a range of classes in varying lengths and free meetups for all current and prospective families.

Our Core Educational Values

Experience – At IPHG we believe that learning occurs through experience. Be it  projects, activities, discussion, or play, we put experience at the center of our courses.

Creativity – All our classes center on promoting the creativity of our students. We firmly believe that students learn best through creative expression and through creative expression a student’s individuality develops and shines.

Community – It is within and through our communities that we are formed as individuals. IPHG is founded on the belief that we need to nurture the community within our classes as well as with our parents, families, and organizational partners. This enables us to enhance the learning opportunities of our students while building relationships amongst our families.
