Ancient Language and Culture

Service Description
This class will help put into perspective the vast world of languages and cultures through the main focus point of language. Some ancient languages are read as images, some are read as words, but in all cases, written languages are beautiful and interesting to look at and replicate. In this class children will receive a small booklet with the various languages to be discussed: mayan, egyptian, pu'repecha / tarasco, chinese characters, sumerian, etc., and will be also shown side by side so as to have children find similarities and differences. Shanti's father, Charles W. Johnson (founder of Earth/matriX Science in Ancient Artwork and Science Today, will be appearing via zoom, on a few occasions to speak for a for 10 minutes per class, about the words and images found in the booklet, as he has researched and written about the subject for thirty years. Cultural Aspect- Besides having the opportunity to write and draw, the children will also learn to recreate: one of the following for each culture studied. - ancient / traditional dance (Egypt) - ancient / traditional song (Maya) - ancient / traditional art technique (brush stroke China) - cuisine (purepecha / tarasco) - clay tablet (sumerian)

Cancellation Policy
We keep our classes small to enhance learning outcomes. Because of this, it is important that our classes are filled up with students that are committed to the class.  If you have questions about a class, please contact us prior to signing up to make sure the class will meet your expectations.  Classes can ONLY be dropped within the first two weeks of the semester. There is a $65 fee if dropped within the first week of class. There is an $80 fee if dropped within the second week of class. The remaining balance after dropping will be refunded. Classes CANNOT be dropped after the second week of scheduled classes. After the second week of scheduled classes no refund will be given. To drop a class please email iphglearning@gmail.com IPHG reserves the right to cancel any class. In the event IPHG cancels class is canceled before beginning, a credit to be applied for future semesters will be given. Credit will be for the value of the canceled class.
