Hello everyone, I'm Lisa!

 

Having retired as a K-12 special educator (23 years) last year, I’m now developing a private tutoring business called SkyWide Learning here in the Chicago area. I have a strong education background, have taught students at all levels in Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Science, and am certified as a Wilson Reading Dyslexia Practitioner. 

 

I’m a strong believer in meeting students where they are and providing “diagnostic teaching,” that is, individualizing learning to meet students where they are at in order to help them learn to love learning. I’m also a mom of a son with autism spectrum disorder as well as executive functioning deficits. 

 

Wearing both parent and teacher hats is critical to my teaching – and is central to why I’m excited to join the IPHG community!
