Lynn Gilbersten instructor

Lynn Gilbertsen is a lifelong Chicagoan. She taught in the K-12 school system for 14 years, and spent her summers working at amazing day camps across the city. At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lynn and her family created a series of immersive field trips around Chicagoland to recreate the feeling of being in another country. Around the World in Chicago was born, encouraged by her young kids’ love of all things cultural. A homeschooling parent herself, Lynn lives with her husband Joe and her two children who are 5 and 8 in Chicago’s Mayfair neighborhood. She believes all people learn best through engaging learning experiences that allow each learner to explore at their own pace and based on their interests.
