CLASS TOPICS: MATH GAMES AND EXPLORATIONS Instructor: Christine Lancaster Course Description: Let's bring math to life through puzzles, games and real-world explorations! As we build upon the skills everyone gained in our fall semester, Math Games and Exploration will continue to cover topics like patterns and geometry, logical reasoning and probability, number sense and mental math. Students will turn problem solving into play by working on a range of individual skills, teamwork tasks, and whole class challenges. A perfect class for both kids who love math and those who need a confidence boost! ANCIENT MYTHS FROM AROUND THE WORLD Instructor: Lynn Gilbertsen Course Description: During the fall semester we learned about ancient myths from Greece and Scandinavia, and we will continue our journey through Ancient Myths from Around the World focusing on Mesopotamia, Korea, and Egypt during the spring semester. Through storytelling, hands-on projects, and artwork, we will make sense of these stories and help them come to life. We’ll also compare and contrast myths that share certain themes or characteristics including creation myths, afterlife myths, trickster myths, and transformation myths! BUILDING BRAINS AND BODIES Instructor: Jennifer Klein Come join us where movement meets mindfulness! In Building Brains and Bodies, this unique class combines interactive reading, social-emotional learning, and yoga to help students build strong bodies and resilient minds. Every class is used to support development of the whole body (physical and mental), while giving students a physical outlet to burn energy and equipping them with practical tools they can use long after they leave the mat.
