Service Description

The field of theatre is a great discipline to learn as it encompasses many skills from languages, movement, spatial awareness, music, literature, voice, memorization, working together as a unit, imagination, and visualization. In this class, students will have the opportunity to use any skills that they already know- dance, playing a musical instrument or singing, acrobatics, building props, working set designs, etc. Everyone who takes this class will work together on set design, props, costumes, music, choreography, and much more. Students will be taught a thorough actors' warm up in every class so as to develop acting, voice and memorization techniques. And everyone will receive a small booklet with theatre terminology glossary. All of our hard work and creative energy will be brought together in a production for friends and family to see at the end of the semester. Shanti Johnson has been working with professional actors with choreography, physical movement, and voice. She has written two children's scripts: * A Multi-Lingual Adaptation of The Little Prince (based on Le Petit Prince by Saint-Exupery) *Historias de mi abuela Matilde" / "Stories From My Grandma Matilde" based on the short story by Theatre and Film Director (Roma Diaz)
