Service Description
In this class we will study many different music genres that include, but are not limited to- classical, country, pop, blues, metal, techno, swing, bluegrass, hip-hop, folk, etc. As we listen to musicians and artists from each of those genres, we will also look at the artwork and graphic design of album covers. Blending sound and vision will lead us through an outline of how music and art flowed and changed throughout the course of history. In addition, we will analyze lyrics and their relation to personal stories or historical events, and focus on the musical instruments being used, while learning about musical elements (rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre). We will wrap up the semester by writing our own songs and creating our own album covers.
