Service Description
Step into the strange, magical world of Nevermoor as we read the first two books in Jessica Townsend’s series: The Trials of Morrigan Crow and Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow. Students will read assigned chapters at home and come to class ready to discuss characters, themes, conflicts, predictions, and the deeper ideas beneath the adventure. Through rotating Literature Circle roles, they’ll practice summarizing, making connections, exploring vocabulary, and leading thoughtful discussion. Along the way, we’ll explore themes of identity, belonging, friendship, prejudice, courage, and discovering your own strengths. With mysterious trials, magical abilities, eccentric characters, and a richly imagined world, Nevermoor offers plenty to analyze while remaining a wonderfully fun read. The shared pace and camaraderie of a literature circle also make this a welcoming class for both enthusiastic and more reluctant readers.
