Intro to Art
(ages 6-14) 10:30-11:45 AM Instructor: Kim Tipre
Service Description
In this intro to art class we will examine examples of various art works, while using different methods, mediums, and techniques to broaden our understanding of what art is. Throughout the semester we will look at examples of traditional portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and sculptures, and compare them to impressionist, pointillist, cubist, and fauvist works. Students will be encouraged to analyze what they see, share what they feel, and create their own works in relation to what we have studied. Through the use of pencil, pen, marker, charcoal, oil pastel, and acrylic paint, students will create a collection of pieces that they will showcase at the end of the semester.
