Service Description
From stinky onions to skyscrapers, this class will explore the history of our great city from its Indigenous pre-colonial roots to modern day. Through stories, primary sources, music, art, film, and even newspaper clips, this class will provide student's a variety of ways to learn about Chicago's history. By viewing Chicago through the lens of diverse voices and learning about its many neighborhoods and communities, we will focus on themes of conflict, social change, resolution, growth, and development. We will do cool projects, explore big questions, and consider what it means to be a Chicagoan.
Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION POLICY: We keep our program and class numbers small to enhance learning outcomes. If you have questions about a program or class, please contact us prior to signing up. Programs and/or classes can be dropped PRIOR to the second week of each semester. There is a 30% fee for a dropped program or class. The remaining balance after fee reduction will be reimbursed. *IPHG will NOT reimburse for a program or class that is dropped after the second week of each semester* To drop a class please email iphglearning@gmail.com IPHG reserves the right to cancel any class. In the event a class is canceled before beginning, a full refund will be given. In the event IPHG cancels a class after the class has begun, a prorated refund will be given.
