Group Piano

2-3pm (Ages 6-14) Music and Fine Arts Instructor: Scott Barbeau

Ended
305 US dollars
Irving Park Lutheran Church

Service Description

In this class, students will have the opportunity to work independently, one-on-one, and in small groups in this 60 minute offering, as they study music theory, piano technique, and songs. While the group environment serves as an engaging, interactive experience, each student has an individual lesson plan and works at their own level and pace. Students will be split into two groups. One group will work on individual pianos (each student will be at a piano) and the second group will work on music theory, composition, etc. The groups will then switch. In this class students will learn how to read and write the language of music, gain healthy form and technique, and enjoy fun songs which help them progress as musicians. Students also participate in icebreakers and team-building activities throughout the session as they develop relationships and gain life skills through music. * Materials are included in the cost of this class. About UpBeat: UpBeat Music and Arts is a non-profit organization founded in 2013 by Scott Barbeau. The organization started with 5 students and now serves over 300 annually through private lessons, group classes, summer camps, rock ensembles, and partnerships. In 2021, UpBeat also provided over 80 scholarships to under-resourced students who love music.
