Art: Mixed Media

Service Description

Get ready for creative experimentation and material exploration in this mixed media art class! Throughout the semester students will become familiar with using different mediums and materials to create artwork that builds texture and layers, while allowing each young artist to express their interpretation of that week's creation challenge. Think of a self-portrait showing our inner self with watercolors, layered with a marker drawing of our outer self. Or a large painted fish with its mouth wide open, with a small pencil drawing of whatever can be found inside the mouth (whether literal or metaphorical). Week to week our medium, materials, and design challenge might change, but the creativity and fun remains. All young artists will display their semester's work in our art showcase the last Thursday of the spring semester.
